Bernie Sanders slams Israel on twitter

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to send thousands of spare vaccines to several of his allies leaving Palestinians behind.

Jerusalem24 –  Former US presidential contender Bernie Sanders today slammed Israel in a tweet for readiness to provide coronavirus vaccines to foreign countries, but not Palestinians under its military occupation.

Reports said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to send thousands of spare vaccines to several of his allies, such as the Czech Republic, Hungary, Honduras, and Guatemala, in a bid to win political favors from them, such as recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving their embassies to the occupied city, and to encourage other countries to follow suit.

At the same time, Israel, which has so far vaccinated more than half of its population, refuses to provide vaccines to over six million Palestinians, who live under its occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and whose daily life is controlled by Israel, who are yet to receive any vaccines.

“As the occupying power, Israel is responsible for the health of all the people under its control. It is outrageous that Netanyahu would use spare vaccines to reward his foreign allies while so many Palestinians in the occupied territories are still waiting,” wrote Sanders in the tweet.
