Moroccan NGOs organize a protest to reject normalization
the Moroccan monarch announced the resumption of official bilateral contacts and diplomatic relations with "Israel".

Jerusalem24 – Moroccan associations announced their intention to organize a protest today, Monday, 14th of December, in front of the Parliament building in the capital, Rabat, to reject the resumption of normalization with “Israel”.
In a statement, the associations described the normalization step as a “dangerous development,” considering that “the official Moroccan, Arab and African regimes provide free service to the Zionist entity, at a time when international sanctions would have become necessary to impose and isolate it.”
The signatories to the statement are: the Moroccan Democratic Network for Solidarity with Peoples, the Moroccan Coalition for Human Rights Commissions, the Moroccan Association for the Support of the Nation’s Causes, the “BDS” movement, the Moroccan Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of “Israel”, and the Committee for Solidarity with the Palestinian People in Bayda.
Last Thursday, the Moroccan monarch announced the resumption of official bilateral contacts and diplomatic relations with “Israel” “as soon as possible,” according to a statement issued by the royal court.
He stated that this “does not in any way affect the permanent and sustained commitment of Morocco to defend the just Palestinian cause, and its constructive engagement for the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East region.”
With the declaration of Rabat, Morocco will be the only Maghreb country that establishes relations with “Israel” after Mauritania cut its relations with “Tel Aviv” in 2010, which is considered an Israeli breakthrough for the Arab Maghreb region.
Morocco will also become the fourth Arab country to agree to normalization during the year 2020. After the Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan.
