poverty rate in Palestine expected to reach 40%

The expected rise is a result of the Corona virus pandemic

Jerusalem24 – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development, Dawood Al-Deek, said in his interview with 24FM Radio that the poverty rate in Palestine will change. Most of it will be in the West Bank, where it will jump from 14% before the pandemic to 30%, and in the Gaza Strip it will jump from 53% before the pandemic to 64%.

Al-Deek stated that the change in poverty rates is a result of the economic and social impacts of the Corona pandemic.
