Hadassah Hospital: Erekat’s condition deteriorated
Calls and coordination with International health organizations underway for his treatment.
Jerusalem24 – The Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in Jerusalem announced, this Monday morning, that the head of the Palestinian Executive Committee and the chief negotiator for the Palestinians, Dr. Saeb Erekat’s condition has deteriorated, and he is now anesthetized and is in critical condition.
The hospital administration said, “After a stable night that Dr. Saeb Erekat spent at Hadassah Hospital Ein Karem, his health had deteriorated this morning, as he was artificially induced to sleep and that his condition was classified as critical.”
The administration of Hadassah Hospital, Ein Karem informed the doctor’s family and the Palestinian National Authority of his health condition and announced that it is contacting international health organizations to to discuss the nature of any possible treatment.
Erekat, 65, was diagnosed with corona about 10 days ago, and was transferred yesterday to a hospital in Jerusalem when his condition worsened.
At Hadassah Hospital, Ein Karem, it was reported that Erekat poses a great challenge in treating corona, given that he has a lung transplant.
