Israel rejects Qatari requests for F35
The Gulf state had requested a purchase of next generation strike craft from the US last week
Jerusalem24 – Israeli Intelligence Minister, Eli Cohen, confirmed that Tel Aviv would oppose a possible deal to sell F-35 fighters from the United States to Qatar.
In an interview with The Israeli Army’s Radio, Cohen responded positively to a question about whether Israel would oppose the potential deal, saying: “My answer is yes, and our security and military supremacy in the region remains on our top priority.”
The Israeli minister pointed out that the Middle East “has not yet transformed into Switzerland.”
This speech came against the backdrop of a report in which the “Reuters” news agency reported that Qatar, after the UAE, had submitted a formal request to purchase the “F-35” next generation fighter jet from Washington.
