Palestinian Prime Minister meets with EU representative
EU Aid and Palestinian elections were discussed.
Jerusalem24 – Palestinian Prime Minister, Dr. Muhammad Shtayyeh, on Saturday, in his office in Ramallah, met with the representative of the European Union to Palestine, Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff, where they discussed the latest political developments and the efforts made to hold elections in Palestine.
Shtayyeh stressed the importance of European support for holding legislative and presidential elections in Palestine, by sending observers to the oversee the elections process, in addition to ensuring the participation of Palestinians in Jerusalem within the electoral process, whether by nominating themselves or voting.
For his part, the representative of the European Union in Palestine stressed that there is no hold or freeze on the European Union’s aid to the Palestinian people. The European Union supports the Palestinian approach to holding elections in all Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. The European Union is also ready to send a mission to monitor the electoral process and support the work of the Central Election Commission.
