Libya rejects the presidency of the current session of the Arab League Council
Along with several other Arab countries

Jerusalem24 – Libya has apologized for assuming the presidency of the 154th regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, after Palestine abandoned its presidency. Qatar, Comoros, Kuwait and Lebanon also refused to complete their presidency of the Arab League Council.
In a verbal note to the General Secretariat of the Arab League, the State of Libya said that “due to the current circumstances that the region and the world are going through due to the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, the State of Libya apologizes for presiding over the aforementioned session, and looks forward to exercising this role in better conditions.”
Libya also affirmed its right to the presidency according to the council’s by law and the alphabetical order of the names of the member states.
