Several units surrounded a house with two men inside, firing anti-tank missiles during the siege, while other units deployed across the city including residential and busy commercial streets.

Soldiers fired “indiscriminately” at civilians from inside armored military vehicles, according to sources on the ground, killing 16-year-old Mohammad Farid Shaaban, 72-year-old Adnan Saba Ba’ara, 61-year-old Abdel Hadi Abdel Aziz Ashqar, 23-year-old Walid Riyadh Hussein Dakhil, 33-year-old Tamer Nimer Ahmad Minawi, 26-year-old Mosaab Mounir Mohammad Awais, 24-year-old Hussam Bassam Aslim, 23-year-old Mohammad Abdel Fattah Abdel Ghani, 24-year-old Mohammad Khaled Anbousi, and 23-year-old Jasser Jamil Abdel Wahab Qaneer. 66-year-old Anan Shawkat Enab died in the evening from excessive tear gas inhalation.

A further 102 were injured by live ammunition, including another elderly man, women, and several journalists, with several of the injured in critical condition. 295 required treatment for tear gas inhalation when the army fired barrages of tear gas canisters at crowds and in residential areas.
