Palestinian shot and killed by Israeli forces in morning raid
Jerusalem24 – Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man during an invasion this morning at dawn of the Umm Al-Sharayet neighborhood in Al-Bireh, close to Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
26-year-old Yazan Afaneh was shot in the chest this morning during confrontations that erupted when Israeli soldiers invaded Umm Al-Sharayet.
Director of Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah Dr. Ahmed Al-Baytawi said Afaneh was treated in the emergency room but that the bullet had caused too much damage to his heart.
Hundreds of people attended his funeral this afternoon, which departed from Palestine Medical Complex.
Over 80 Palestinians have been shot and killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank so far in 2022, including 20 children. This marks a sharp increase over previous years, with a total 90 Palestinians shot and killed by Israel in the West Bank for the whole of 2021, and an average of 41 during the Netanyahu era.
