Israeli forces shoot and kill two Palestinian teens in one day
Jerusalem24 – 17-year-old Mo’men Yaseen Jaber was shot and killed by Israeli forces during confrontations that took place yesterday afternoon in Hebron, while protesting the assassination of famed Palestinian fighter Ibrahim Nabulsi.
Mo’men was rushed to hospital after he was shot in the heart with live ammunition. The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced his death shortly after 5pm.
His family have demanded privacy from the media and public.
Mo’men is the second Palestinian teenager shot and killed by Israeli forces on Friday.
16-year-old Hussein Jamal Taha was shot and killed during the Nablus invasion by Israeli special forces during which Palestinian fighters Ibrahim Nabulsi and Islam Sbbouh were assassinated. A total of 69 Palestinians were injured with live ammunition during the siege and armed confrontations.
Confrontations broke out across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in the aftermath of the assassination, lasting until the early hours of this morning. Dozens of Palestinians were injured by tear gas inhalation as well as rubber-coated bullets fired by Israeli forces, including a 15-year-old boy in Hebron who lost his retina after being shot in the eye.
Hussein and Mo’men are the 19th and 20th children to be shot and killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank since the beginning of the year.
A total of 36 Palestinian children have been killed by Israel in 2022, including 16 in Gaza last weekend during Israel’s 56-hour bombing campaign on the Strip.
