Thousands of Palestinians across the West Bank confront Israeli forces

Jerusalem24 – One after the other cities in the West Bank have implemented a general strike today, closing commercial outlets and holding rallies and protests in mourning, after news of the killing of three Palestinians in Nablus this morning, including Palestinian fighters Ibrahim Nabulsi and Islam Sbbouh and 16-year-old Hussein Jamal Taha, by Israeli fire during a military raid and siege.

A general strike was called by the political powers and parties in all major cities of the West Bank, including Hebron, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Tulkarem, Jenin, Salfit, Qalqilya, Nablus, as well as areas of occupied East Jerusalem.

Thousands of Palestinians rushed to the Rafidia hospital in Nablus this morning after news of the killing of the Palestinian fighters. Protests and confrontations with Israeli forces broke out first in Nablus, extending to the rest of the cities in the occupied West Bank.

18-year-old Nabulsi was a well-known and popular figure in the West Bank, who evaded several assassination attempts by Israeli special forces.

As of 4pm today, over 100 injuries were reported (including 69 in Nablus during the Israeli raid), and nine during confrontations between Palestinian youth and Israeli forces in Al-Bireh this afternoon. Almost all of the injuries were caused by live ammunition.

Pictures and scenes of Palestinians taking to the streets and thousands participating in the three Palestinians’ funeral procession in Nablus, as well as shuttered commercial outlets, have been filling Palestinian social media.
