16-year-old Palestinian dies of injuries hours after being shot and detained by Israeli forces
Jerusalem24 – A 16-year-old Palestinian was killed after suffering serious injuries inflicted by the Israeli occupation forces in the town of Silwad northeast of Ramallah on Friday.
Mohammad Abdallah Hamed was injured on Friday night during confrontations between the Israeli occupation forces and Palestinians in the town of Silwad.
Israeli forces detained the teenager after he sustained severe injuries inflicted by gunshot during the confrontations, and was transferred by ambulance around 45 minutes later to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, according to documentation collected by Defense for Children International – Palestine (DCIP). His death was announced to his parents in the early hours of the morning.
The Israeli authorities are yet to deliver his body to his parents.
Mohammad is the fifteenth Palestinian child shot and killed by Israeli forces in 2022, according to documentation collected by DCIP.
The latest was Odeh Mohammad Odeh Sadaqa, a 16-year-old boy who was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank village of Al-Midya west of Ramallah on 2 June.
Another thirteen Palestinian children were shot and killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank between January and May 2022.
