Special series: 55 Years On

A series on Vibes and Wake up Palestine examining the occupation at 55.

Jerusalem24 – In this special series, we look at East Jerusalem’s occupation at 55, and how the city’s demography, economy, social fabric, and traditions have been changed.

This month marked 55 years since the start of Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories (ie, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip), a belligerent occupation that has been carried out in the context of, and serves to entrench, Israel’s settler colonization of and apartheid against Palestine and Palestinians.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, Raffoul Rofa, the Director of the Society of St. Yves the Catholic Center for Human Rights of the Latin Patriarchate in the Holy Land, talks about the legal arsenal Israel employs which aims to support and lend legitimacy to their occupation of the holy city.
