Two Palestinians killed, eight injured in Israeli raids on West Bank
Jerusalem24– Two Palestinian men were shot and killed by Israeli forces in overnight raids in the West Bank town of Yabad southwest of Jenin and in the Duheisheh refugee camp south of Bethlehem.
A further eight Palestinians were wounded by live ammunition. Four of them remain in critical condition, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
29-year-old Ayman Mahmoud Muhaisen was killed and two others wounded, one critically, when Israeli forces stormed the Duheisheh refugee camp in the early hours of the morning.
In Yabad, Jenin, local sources said around 300 Israeli soldiers sealed all entrances to the town shortly before midnight. Soldiers then proceeded to the house of Diaa Hamarsheh, who was killed by Israeli police after an attack that left five Israelis dead in Bnei Brak on 29 March, and placed explosives in the house in preparation for its demolition.
Israel has a long-standing policy of punitive demolitions of the family homes of Palestinian attackers.
Palestinian youths confronted the soldiers with stones and Israeli forces responded with live ammunition, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Bilal Awad Tawfiq Kabha. Six other injuries required hospitalization, with three currently classified as critical by the Ministry of Health.
Israeli forces have killed a total of three Palestinians in the West Bank in the last 24 hours.
