Palestinian man denied first-aid dies of wounds

Jerusalem24- 23-year-old Palestinian Walid Al-Sharif has died due to wounds sustained several weeks ago when Israeli forces stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, his brother Abd AlRahman Al-Sharif announced on Saturday morning.

Walid was assaulted and detained by Israeli forces as they attacked worshippers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on 22 April. He was denied first aid, leaving his brain deprived of oxygen for 20 minutes and leading to permanent brain damage.

Al-Sharif was transferred to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital where he died of his wounds yesterday after suffering severe concussion and a brain hemorrhage.

Israeli authorities have so far refused to release his body to his family for burial.
