1600 new settlement units approved in northern occupied Jerusalem

Jerusalem24 – Al-Quds –The Israeli planning and construction committee has approved new permits for 1600 settlement units in occupied Jerusalem.
The new construction will go ahead in areas that are called “entry gates into the industrial zone,” which include the settlements of Qalandia, Atarot, Giv’at Sha’ol and Lifta. The locations will reportedly witness a 180% increase in affordable housing construction.
This decision upholds a previous one which categorized a total of six areas as “entrances to Jerusalem”, in the east and west of the occupied city. These areas include Giv’at Sha’ol, Kiryat Moshe, Beit Hkeirem, Yafa Nov, and Har Nov.
