Orders to Demolish 10 Apartments in Al-Tur Frozen

Jerusalem24The Municipal Affairs Court in occupied Jerusalem approved, on Monday, the request of the Jerusalem families’ lawyer to freeze the implementation of all demolition orders issued against an apartment building in a-Tur, until further notice.

Ten families from al-Tur, who are threatened with being evicted from their homes in the residential building, were able to obtain a decision from the Occupation Municipal Affairs Court in Jerusalem to freeze all demolition orders until further notice.

The residential buildings consist of 5 floors comprising 10 apartments, as the occupation municipality is looking forward to completely demolishing the building under the pretext of building without a permit, knowing that the planning and construction committees of the occupation municipality refrain from issuing building permits to Palestinians in Jerusalem.

About 70 Jerusalemites, most of whom are children, have lived in this building, since 2011, and it is located in the town of Al-Tur, east of occupied Jerusalem.

Jerusalemite lawyer Medhat Diba said that “the Municipal Affairs Court approved his request to freeze the implementation of all demolition orders issued against the Al-Tur building, until further notice.
