Fate of Sheikh Jarrah Family Home Could Be Decided Today

More than 200 families are threatened with displacement

Jerusalem24 – The Israeli Magistrate Court in occupied Jerusalem will be looking into the lawsuit of settlement organizations regarding the evacuation of the Salem family from their home in Sheikh Jarrah.

According to Israeli Human Rights organizations supporting the family, the session could decide the fate of the Salem family, and in turn the entire neighborhood.

The Salem family house is home to 11 people, some born there and know no other home. Israeli settler associations have been trying to displace them.

There have been calls for a protest in front of the courthouse today, to protest discriminatory laws as well as the displacement of Palestinians from East Jerusalem.

More than 200 families are threatened with displacement because of settler associations.
