Wake Up Palestine – UNESCO Vote on Jerusalem

Jerusalem24 – United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” at its 214th session, held in Paris, unanimously adopted two resolutions for the State of Palestine.

The resolutions call on Israel to stop its provocations and unilateral procedures against “Haram Al-Sharif” or the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Old City of Jerusalem, and its walls. They also called for the speeding up of procedures to dispatch a monitoring mission from UNESCO to Jerusalem to inspect all violations committed by Israel.

The resolutions also stated that all Israeli procedures aiming to change the identity of the holy city and its legal status quo are null and void.

The resolution was a result of diplomatic efforts by the Palestinians, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in addition to the Arab and Islamic groups.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, we speak to Dr. Omar Awadallah, the Assitant Minister for the United Nations, and other Specialized Agencies for the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs who speaks about the importance of these resolutions.
