“Concerned about the recent violence by settlers in the village of At Tuwani and the South Hebron Hills carried out against Palestinian residents and Human Right Defenders.
On April 4th, two Human Rights Defenders were accompanying a Palestinian shepherd and his flock of sheep on private Palestinian land when more than a dozen settlers started harassing and threatening them. This is entirely unacceptable.
Everyone has the right, individually and in association with others, to participate in peaceful activities against HR violations and fundamental freedoms. Under International Humanitarian Law, Israeli authorities must take all necessary measures to protect Palestinians and their property against settler violence.”
Palestinian Basel Adra documents these attacks in the southern Hebron Hills, have often been attacked himself.
The Israeli settler strangled Itai, solidarity activist and hit him in the face, then the settler took the camera and break it.

The Israeli settlers at times attack in the presence of the Israeli military who often times protect the settlers.
After the attack, occupation soldiers came to the area. The settlers continued to throw rocks at us while next to them. If they were Palestinian? They would have been shot or arrested. But as settlers the soldiers back them up. pic.twitter.com/2TRkoLFrwa
