New Settlement Plans in Jerusalem

Jerusalem24 – The Settlement Communities Council (Yesha) revealed in its evening session after Saturday’s exit that it will present to the Israeli government a broad complementary addition to the plan previously presented to build 4,958 new settlement units.

The goal of said plan is to expand existing settlements and to extend infrastructure works in outposts under construction, the construction of 5 tunnels, and the construction of two bridges; one of them is under construction.

The settlement expert, head of the cartography unit in Jerusalem, Khalil Al-Tafkaji, said that the Israeli authorities announced yesterday that new bids were issued to build 96 settlement units in the Adam settlement, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.

Al-Tafakaji added that the announcement included the expansion of the settlement of “Givat Hamatoas” – “Khirbet Tabalia” south of occupied Jerusalem, to expand the number of settlement units in it so that it will be doubled and includes 680 settlement units that will be doubled on private Palestinian lands. He stressed that the occupation is taking advantage of the world and the media’s preoccupation with the Russian war on Ukraine to implement its plans in the occupied Palestinian territories.
