Wake Up Palestine – International Women’s Day 2022

Jerusalem24 – gender inequality does not exist separately from other forms of discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. As such BIPOC women, young women, and women living in poverty are more vulnerable to discrimination and bias.

One means of combatting women’s inequality is to empower them economically.

Women’s economic empowerment includes women’s ability to participate equally in existing markets; their access to and control over productive resources, access to decent work, control over their own time, lives, and bodies; and increased voice, agency, and meaningful participation in economic decision-making.

In today’s episode of Wake Up Palestine, Manal Izreiq, a member of the board of directors at the National Bank presents the situation of Palestinian women as she sees it. The needs of working women and how she is contributing to women’s rights and equality.International
