RozMemories: customized jewellery with a sentimental touch

"We lock up precious memories that our customers treasure in beautiful and delicate jewelry"

Jerusalem24 – Fairouz Daoud, an award-winning entrepreneur; Best Creative Entrepreneur Award at Innovation in Business Summit 2021, has a unique jewelry concept valuing emotions and feelings, RozMemories, an e-commerce store.

Fairouz shared her story with Jerusalem24, saying “it all started as a hobby when I was in the KSA, then I went to Canada to learn lifecasting, and I got to know print jewelry, which is customized jewelry with a sentimental touch”.

RozMemories launched at the beginning of the pandemic, which many would think is doomed to fail, but Fairouz took the opportunity of the lockdown and pandemic, to give people the chance to express their feeling through jewelry and preserve moments, connecting them with their loved ones.

Fairouz says “we lock up precious memories that our customers treasure in beautiful and delicate jewelry. RozMemories also combines jewelry with technology, as QR codes can be engraved on the jewelry locking names, sounds, heartbeat, and any information they want to preserve or convey through the jewelry items”.

Many Palestinians who live abroad or in the diaspora, reach out to RozMemories for the customized experience according to their needs. She adds “We’re all simple, we love simple things… so when a lady contacted us asking for something for her stage-three cancer patient mom, I had to re-contract her personally and ask her what she sees her mother doing every day; when we talk about mothers, we also talk about our homeland… at least this is how I see it. The lady said my mother wakes up every day drinks her coffee, waters her flowers watching them. So, we asked her to get the flowers, the sand that the flower is planted in, the coffee her mother drinks, and we put it in the Ashes Locket and we asked for her mother’s fingerprints and handwriting saying “I’ll be with you forever”, put it all in a necklace”.

Fairouz says this story is the closest to her heart, adding that the experience RozMemories provided for the lady was priceless.

“It’s for everyone and anyone, it’s for women and men, kids and adults, everyone has emotions, we want to express them, tell others about them”.

Giving back to Palestine

Since launching RozMemories, Fairouz wanted to help as much as she can, especially since she’s not in Palestine, feeling the responsibility, and after some work and communication, RozMemories sponsored an exhibition for Palestinian business and talents. “I felt like these girls have so much potential, they were talented and creative and I hope that I inspired them to chase their dreams,” she said.

“I tell people to study what they feel like, find the thing that makes them motivated, find their way to make money, work your 9 to 5/6 job if you need to, but save that money to follow your dream,”
