Jerusalemite Journalist finds her opportunity through Mish Haki
Mish Haki - Not Just a Talk: a learning experience for both herself and her audience
Jerusalem24 – Enas Qadamani, Jerusalemite journalist documenting the city and its old details through her Instagram page and online platform, Mish Haki – Not just a talk.
“The name comes from the idea of making content that is informative and many don’t talk about.”, Enas says, adding that the simplicity of presentation she follows makes her work different from many other platforms that start to look alike. “The content I create is simple so people understand it, I talk directly to them through the camera, and the simplicity of subtraction makes it more receptive for them to accept it”.
Enas adds that the information she shares through her platform is mostly new. Touching on strange and new information about Jerusalem, makes the audience interact more. “I get my topics from daily life, questions I ask myself, peoples talk, things that grab my attention”.
When making a one-minutes video or reel, the process might actually take many hours if not days. Enas touches on many topics, from Jerusalem’s walls and stones all the way to a topic like lack of focus, that many suffer from. She bases her information on historical and scientific sources.
Enas believes that her platform is a learning experience for both herself and her audience, “I learnt a lot from Mish Haki and the reels I publish, I learnt to make videos by experience. Which made me believe that I can do anything from scratch, I now possess a huge knowledge about Jerusalem, things I’ve never even knew before”.
“We don’t have many opportunities, and there are many obstacles, I started Mish Haki since I didn’t find my opportunity. I chose something I love to do, and start something I know I can benefit my community and others through. And that was how Mish Haki started”.
