Jerusalem24 – In January 2022, the elderly Omar Abdel Majid Asaad, 80 years old, from the village of Jilijliya, in the Ramallah governorate, a Palestinian citizen with an American passport, died after Israeli soldiers tied him up for hours and threw him in the cold.

Asaad’s death received local and international reactions because of the incident. It was a battalion in the Israeli army called Netzah Yehuda that stormed Jilijliya and caused the death of Asaad.

The issue of Asaad’s death is added to a long record of repressive and improvisational practices carried out by this battalion.

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, Walid Habbas sheds light on the Netzah Yehuda battalion, which is made up mainly of hardened settler soldiers, with biblical convictions, ideological hostility to Arabs, and internal competition for violence.
