Security Council to hold a session on the latest developments in the Palestinian Territories this month

Jerusalem24 – The UN Security Council is scheduled to hold a session on the 23rd of this month on the latest developments in the Palestinian Territories, especially what’s happening in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem.

In an interview with the official Voice of Palestine radio station, Riyad Mansour, the permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations called on the international community, the Secretary-General of the United Nations and its representative in the Palestinian territories, to play a more effective role to pressure the occupation government to discourage it from demolishing the homes of citizens and to stop what is happening.

Mansour stressed the continuation of communication with the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the issue of Sheikh Jarrah, saying that follow-up is underway with the presidency of the Security Council for this month, which is being handled by Russia, where many issues were discussed, including activating the role of the Quartet and holding a meeting at a ministerial level.
