A Take On The Current Situation

Jerusalem24 – So much is happening across Palestine in the beginning of the year. Stories that are still incomplete from the previous year to new challenges for 2022.

Palestinian Detainee, Hisham Abu Hawash has been on hunger strike for 141 days, is now suffering health complications. Despite international pressure, there seems to be no end to his plight in sight.

Meanwhile, the past few days have seen an increasing rate of incidents, with some signs of acceleration. At the same time, the negotiations regarding the prisoners’ exchange file has not changed.

Palestinians are facing an unprecedented case of settler attacks in the recent period as well, with individual Palestinians retaliating towards the violence. Is this a sign of things getting worse?

The United States said it will be working to re-open its consulate in Jerusalem to serve Palestinians. Despite that, Israel remains obstinate about the opening of an American consulate in Jerusalem. Will the United States succeed in reversing one of Trump’s decisions?

In this episode of Wake Up Palestine, we speak to Mustafa Barghouti, the head of the Palestinian National Initiative who expresses his opinions on these various topics.
