Ramle Prison Hospital refuses medical examination of sick detainee
The detainee requires periodic check ups as a cancer survivor
Jerusalem24 – The Ramle Prison Hospital yesterday refused to conduct a medical examination of the detained Palestinian Abdel Nasser Rabi, from Qalqilya. This came two days after he was transferred by armored truck to the prison hospital.
Rabi’s wife says that the hospital is refusing to conduct the tests because the Israeli prison service did not place his name on the examination list.
As a former cancer patient who has had a tumor removed before his arrest, Rabi needs periodic examinations to ensure that his cancer does not return.
Rabi is currently under administrative detention for six months, and had already spent seven years detained by Israel before that.
His wife had called on human rights organizations to take action to safe his life from what many Palestinians are calling “a policy of medical negligence.”
